FAQ
What's the difference versus the Thistlegorm day trip?
The day trip is a single long day with a pre-dawn start and two dives. The overnight safari sleeps on the boat, adds the Abu Nuhas wrecks, gives you up to four dives, and — crucially — lets you dive the Thistlegorm at first light before the crowds arrive.
What are the sleeping arrangements?
A shared cabin on board with all meals included. A private cabin upgrade is available on request, subject to availability.
What certification do I need?
Advanced Open Water (or equivalent), because of the 27–32 m depths and possible current. We strongly recommend Nitrox and recent dive experience. If you're unsure, contact us before booking.
How many dives do I get?
Up to four guided wreck dives: two at Abu Nuhas (typically Giannis D and Carnatic) on day one, and two on the Thistlegorm early on day two.
What's included in the price?
Hotel transfer, one night on board in a shared cabin, all meals and drinks, up to four guided dives, tanks, weights, a wreck guide, and dive insurance. Equipment rental (€15/day), Nitrox (€8/dive), private cabin upgrade and any marine-park/port fees are extra.
Dive sites you may visit
Site choice depends on the day's wind, swell, and your group's level.
Carnatic
The oldest and most beautiful of the Abu Nuhas wrecks — a P&O steam-and-sail ship wrecked in 1869. More than 150 years of coral has turned her elegant skeleton into a living reef draped in soft corals and glassfish.
Giannis D
The most photogenic of the four Abu Nuhas wrecks — a Greek cargo ship that struck the reef in 1983 and broke into three. Her dramatically tilted stern, with engine room and mast, is one of the Red Sea's best wreck dives.
SS Thistlegorm
The most famous wreck in the Red Sea — a British WWII armed merchant ship sunk in 1941, her holds still packed with motorcycles, trucks, rifles and railway locomotives. A bucket-list dive in the Strait of Gubal.

Abu Nuhas Wreck Trip
A full day on the Red Sea's 'ship graveyard'. Two dives on the wrecks of Abu Nuhas reef — typically the photogenic Giannis D and the 1869 Carnatic 'Wine Wreck'. A wreck-lover's day out for certified divers, an hour and a half north of Hurghada.
SS Thistlegorm Day Trip
A long, unforgettable day on the most famous wreck in the Red Sea. Two dives on the SS Thistlegorm — a WWII cargo ship still loaded with motorcycles, trucks and locomotives. An early start, a fast crossing, and a bucket-list dive for certified divers.
