Featured dive sites

Walls, wrecks, pinnacles, and the famous Aquarium — six of our favourite spots.

Abu Ramada South
Hurghada drift

Abu Ramada South

A spectacular drift along a vibrant fringing reef south of Giftun Island. Schooling barracuda, batfish, and the occasional eagle ray patrol the deeper edges while the shallow reef explodes with anthias.

Abu Ramada North
Hurghada reef

Abu Ramada North

The gentler twin of Abu Ramada South — calmer current, shallower reef, ideal for newly-certified Open Water divers and underwater photographers.

Erg Abu Ramada
Hurghada pinnacle

Erg Abu Ramada

An iconic offshore pinnacle rising from 30 m to within 4 m of the surface. Three towers connected by saddles, festooned in soft coral and patrolled by big fish.

Gota Abu Ramada
Hurghada reef

Gota Abu Ramada

Nicknamed 'The Aquarium' for good reason — the densest, most riotous fish life of any easy reef in the Hurghada area. The first dive every visiting photographer asks for.

Abu Hashish
Hurghada reef

Abu Hashish

A sprawling reef system south of Hurghada with multiple dive profiles in one location — wall, sandy slope, lagoon, and seagrass beds where turtles graze and dugongs occasionally appear.

El Mina Wreck
Hurghada wreck

El Mina Wreck

A 70 m Egyptian minesweeper sunk during the 1967 war, lying on her port side at 32 m. The most dramatic and accessible wreck in the Hurghada area — and a highlight of any Advanced Open Water course.

DiveRED instructor and student
About DiveRED

A small dive shop with a long memory.

DiveRED opened in 2024, but the team behind it has been guiding Red Sea dives since 2014. We kept the crew small on purpose: five full-time instructors, two boats, two bases in Hurghada, and a visitor ledger full of returning divers who started nervous and left certified.

  • Maximum 1:4 student-to-instructor ratio. Often 1:1 or 1:2.
  • All-inclusive pricing. The number you see is the number you pay.
  • Hotel pickup from anywhere in Hurghada, Makadi Bay, Sahl Hasheesh, El Gouna.
  • Eco-conscious diving. We don't feed fish. Ever.

"I'd been afraid of deep water my whole life. After 6 days with DiveRED I'm now an Advanced Open Water diver and I cried happy tears on my first night dive. They were patient, kind, and never made me feel small. I'll be back every year."

"The Rescue course was the hardest and best three days of my diving life. Ahmed runs scenarios that feel terrifyingly real and then debriefs with so much warmth you laugh about them after. I feel like a different diver. Worth every euro and then some."

"Brought my 9-year-old son for the Bubblemaker. The instructor sat with him for 20 minutes before they even touched a tank, and treated him like a young diver from the first second. He hasn't stopped talking about it. We'll be back when he's old enough for Junior Open Water."

PADI vs SSI vs SDI — which agency should I choose?
All three are recognised worldwide and qualify you to dive to the same depths for life. PADI is the most globally recognised and has the slickest digital learning. SSI offers free digital materials and is favoured in Europe and Asia. SDI is the most technically rigorous and was the first to teach with dive computers from day one. Truthfully, the certification card matters less than the instructor behind it — and we offer all three.
What does 'all-inclusive' actually mean?
It means: hotel pickup and drop-off, all your equipment, tanks, weights, instructor or divemaster, boat, lunch, drinks, dive insurance, and your certification card if you're on a course. The price you see is the price you pay. The only things not included are tips for the crew (suggested €10-15) and optional add-ons like a photo package or nitrox tanks.
Are you family-friendly? What ages do you take?
Very. We run snorkel trips for ages 5 and up, the PADI Bubblemaker for kids 8-10, Junior Open Water from age 10, and the full Open Water from age 15. Parents are always welcome on board. We have child-sized equipment and our instructors are experienced with nervous first-timers of every age.
I'm scared of deep water — is diving really for me?
Possibly, yes. About a third of our students arrive nervous and almost all of them leave certified and grinning. The trick is: small ratios (we cap at 1:4, often 1:1 for nervous students), no rush, gradual progression in waist-deep water before you go anywhere near depth, and an instructor who is allowed to slow down. If at any point you're not enjoying it, we stop. Zero shame, full refund on the unused portion.
How and when do I pay?
No deposit required to book — just message us on WhatsApp and we'll hold your spot. You pay in cash (EUR, USD, or EGP) or by card on the morning of your first day at the dive base. Bank transfer is also accepted in advance for groups and liveaboards. We don't ask for credit card details over the phone or by email.
Can I book private 1:1 lessons instead of joining a group?
Yes, and many people do. A private 1:1 course is roughly 50% more than the group price (so €595 instead of €395 for Open Water), and you'll typically finish a day earlier with significantly more individual coaching. Recommended for: nervous students, fast learners, very young students, and divers who already know they want to take their training seriously.
