A coral wall and slope on the north side of Big Giftun, with overhangs and cracks hiding morays and groupers and tuna passing in the blue — a step up from the easy Giftun reefs.

Location

Hamda runs along the northern side of Big Giftun — a coral wall and slope cut with overhangs and cracks where moray eels and groupers shelter. There is often a little current along the reef, which brings tuna and jacks hunting past the edge. It is a notch more demanding than the shallow Giftun gardens, and a good progression dive for divers building experience.
