Is an ISC certification recognised internationally?

Yes. ISC courses are built to ISO 24801 — the same international recreational-diver standard PADI and SSI map to. An ISC Open Water diver is trained to the same globally recognised benchmark, so the certification travels with you.

Can I dive at other centres worldwide with an ISC card?

In almost all cases, yes — competent dive operators accept any ISO-equivalent certification (ISC, SSI, SDI, RAID) exactly as they would a PADI card. Being honest: ISC is a newer brand, so once in a while a centre that has only ever seen PADI logos may ask to see your logged dives. Keep your logbook and eCard on your phone and you are set.

Is it as safe and as thorough as PADI?

It meets the identical ISO 24801 safety standard — and on two measurable points ISC asks for more: the Open Water course certifies you to 20 m (vs 18 m) and requires 120 minutes of in-water time (vs 80). Same standard, more time actually diving.

Can I continue to Advanced later, or cross over to PADI?

Yes. Because every ISO-mapped Open Water certification is cross-recognised, you can continue straight into ISC Advanced with us, or take an Advanced / specialty course with a PADI or SSI centre later. Your entry certification is not a dead end.

Why is ISC so much cheaper than PADI?

Not because the training is thinner. ISC is digital-first — no expensive printed manuals to buy, and far lower agency overhead for the dive centre. Those savings get passed to you instead of to a global brand’s marketing budget.

Is ISC legal to teach in Egypt?

Yes — ISC is approved by CDWS (the Chamber of Diving & Watersports), the body that regulates all diving in Egypt. We teach it fully licensed from Hurghada.
