This is a fun-diving day, not a course — you already hold your technical certification and just want to dive your rig. We match you with a tec-qualified guide, confirm your gas plan, and put you on the local walls we know best. Hotel pickup (optional)
Air-conditioned transfer from your hotel to the marina or our Makadi base. €5 per person — or make your own way to the marina.

Rig check & dive plan
We check your twinset or sidemount configuration, confirm your certification level, and agree the gas plan and turn pressures for both dives before the boat leaves.

Dive 1
First dive on a wall or drift reef suited to your certification and gas plan — El Fanadir, Umm Gamar or Abu Ramada South depending on conditions.

Surface interval & lunch
Hot lunch, drinks, and a rest on the upper deck while we plan the second dive.

Dive 2
Second dive — deeper or longer if your certification and gas plan allow it.
- 6 15:00
Return to marina + drop-off
Cruise back, debrief, log your dives, and we drop you back at your hotel by 16:30-17:00.

FAQ
Do I need to already be tec certified for this trip?
Yes. This is a fun-diving day for divers who already hold a technical certification (PADI TecRec Tec 40 or above, or the TDI equivalent). If you are not yet certified, start with our Tec 40 course instead.
Can I rent a twinset or sidemount rig?
Yes — twinset hire is €25/day. Stage and deco cylinders are €10/dive, and deco gas (EAN50 or pure O2) is €15/fill. Bring your own certification card and we'll match the fills to your gas plan.
Can I combine this with a wreck trip?
Yes — many tec divers pair a fun-dive day with the Salem Express, Abu Nuhas or Thistlegorm trip for a full technical wreck profile. Tell us when you book and we'll plan the gas and schedule together.
What's the difference between this and the Tec courses?
The Tec 40-65 courses are structured training toward a new certification. This trip is unstructured fun diving for divers who are already certified and just want to dive their technical rig with a qualified guide.
Dive sites you may visit
Site choice depends on the day's wind, swell, and your group's level.
Abu Ramada South
A spectacular drift along a vibrant fringing reef south of Giftun Island. Schooling barracuda, batfish, and the occasional eagle ray patrol the deeper edges while the shallow reef explodes with anthias.
El Fanadir
A long reef wall running parallel to the coast just off Hurghada — the area's go-to drift dive, with a sloping garden on the inside and a sheer drop on the outside.
Umm Gamar
A crescent-shaped island reef north of Hurghada with a sheer eastern wall, three coral towers off the south tip and a glassfish-packed plateau — one of the area's classic deeper reef dives.
