What PADI Tec 45 actually involves
The middle rung of the PADI TecRec ladder and the point where you become a true decompression diver. Tec 45 removes the training-wheel limits of Tec 40: dive to 45 metres, run full staged decompression with a single deco gas, and manage a stage cylinder. Four training dives with a technical instructor, small ratios, and all twinsets, stages and gases included.

Training dives 1 & 2
Two dives running genuine staged decompression with a single deco gas, deploying an SMB from depth and holding precise multi-level stops as a team.

What's the real difference between Tec 40 and Tec 45?
Tec 40 caps you at a single, short deco obligation with a single deco gas. Tec 45 removes the depth and deco-time training limits — you plan and run full staged decompression to 45 m and add stage-cylinder handling.
Can I do Tec 40 and Tec 45 back to back?
Yes — many divers run Tec 40 and 45 together over about a week, and it's the most efficient way to progress. Ask us about combining them, or the full Tec 40/45/50 Deep Diver package.
